These terms govern your use of the Hootico website and services. Hootico is a brand of Employers’ Risk Management Association, LLC. By using the site you agree to these terms.
Hootico is an insurance agency service. We are not an insurance company. Policies are underwritten and issued by licensed insurance carriers, and coverage is provided by the carrier named on your policy, not by Hootico or Employers’ Risk Management Association, LLC. Insurance products are placed through licensed producers.
Premium figures shown before a policy is issued are estimates based on the information you provide. Your final premium is determined by the carrier and may differ. Coverage does not exist until the carrier accepts the risk and issues a policy, and payment has been received.
Workers’ compensation policies are auditable. Your final premium depends on actual payroll and job classifications during the policy period, and may be adjusted after an audit.
You agree to give accurate and complete information, including payroll, employee counts, job classifications and claims history. Insurance decisions and pricing rely on this. Inaccurate or incomplete information may result in premium adjustments, a claim being denied, or a policy being rescinded or cancelled by the carrier.
You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential and for activity under your account.
Service fees are shown before you pay and are charged in addition to insurance premium. Payments are processed by Stripe. Premium payment terms, including any installment schedule, are set by the carrier and shown before you agree to them. Failure to pay premium when due may result in the carrier cancelling your policy.
Certificates are issued as evidence of coverage in effect at the time of issue. A certificate confers no rights on the holder and does not amend, extend or alter the coverage in the policy.
By providing your email address you agree to receive transactional messages about your quote and policy. Text messages are optional and require separate consent; see our Privacy Policy for details, including how to opt out.
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Coverage availability varies by state, industry and class code, and some risks cannot be quoted online.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Employers’ Risk Management Association, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any obligation an insurance carrier owes you under an issued policy, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after we post an update means you accept the revised terms.
